OVERVIEW: The Model YDG is a heavy-duty ductile iron Y-strainer with grooved ends, designed for fast installation and easy maintenance in HVAC, and general water service systems. It uses A536 ductile iron construction for enhanced strength and pressure performance over standard gray iron, while maintaining a compact footprint. The grooved ends conform to AWWA C606 / ANSI/AWWA C515 and are compatible with most mechanical coupling systems, making the YDG ideal for preassembled or modular piping. Sizes range from 2″ to 12″, with pressure ratings up to 300 psi. The body cavity is engineered with a generously sized screen well to support high open-area ratios and extended intervals between cleanings. A 304 stainless steel screen is standard, and the bolted cover allows for tool-free access. A blow-off port is provided for inline cleaning, and optional fusion-bonded epoxy coating improves corrosion resistance.
