OVERVIEW: The Model YIT is a durable cast iron Y-strainer with NPT threaded ends, engineered for dependable protection of pumps, meters, and control valves in steam, water, oil, and compressed air systems. Rated for up to 250 psi non-shock steam service and 400 psi WOG at 150°F, the YIT is constructed from ASTM A126 Class B cast iron for cost-effective strength in low- to moderate-pressure applications. Available in sizes ¼″ through 3″, it features a deep straining cavity and high screen open-area ratio (≈49% on most sizes), which reduces pressure drop and extends service intervals. The 304 stainless steel screen is standard and held in place by a threaded cap that allows easy removal for cleaning. A ½″ NPT blow-off port is included (plugged) for inline purging or valve installation.
